Fully searchable digital archive:

Wordwell, the publishers of Archaeology Ireland, have partnered with digital publishing experts Exact Editions to deliver this digital offering to subscribers. With the digital archive, individual and institutional subscribers alike can instantly access every published issue, from the first one in 1987 to the latest quarterly edition, creating an invaluable resource of over 100 issues of well-researched and lavishly illustrated articles, as well as over 70 Heritage Guide supplements that study a range of Irish archaeological sites in fine-combed detail.

Published every quarter since 1987, each issue of Archaeology Ireland brings up-to-date authoritative information on Ireland’s archaeological investigations to a wide audience in an accessible format. This 52pp full-colour magazine is a well-respected title, read by professionals, academics and very many archaeology enthusiasts in Ireland and internationally.

Each issue of Archaeology Ireland is accompanied by a 6pp Heritage Guide (since 1998). Heritage Guides are highly illustrated and informative guides to Ireland’s sites and monuments—the lesser known as well as the familiar.

The digital archive utilises Exact Editions’ platform to provide readers and researchers with a fully searchable (see below) backfile where every page is searchable and citable. Accessible across a range of digital platforms, readers can quickly find their favourite issue or article of the magazine using the Exact Editions website or with the native iOS and Android apps, allowing for easy reading whether in the study, on the sofa or while commuting to work.
